Our Story: Built on Service and Community

As we mentioned above, it’s been over 85 years since we first planted our roots in Nashville and began serving the Middle Tennessee area. We originally started as Horrell Refrigeration in 1939, before Bob Maynard purchased the company in 1971. Over the decades, we expanded by acquiring several other companies, growing our capabilities along with our customer base. These additions allowed us to broaden our offerings and meet the evolving needs of homeowners and businesses alike. With every step forward, we’ve stayed focused on quality, professionalism, and service that truly makes a difference.

In 2001, we became known as Maynard Select—a name that marked a new era of growth and expanded services. Today, you’ll find us as Maynard Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, proudly serving as the go-to team for residential and commercial services throughout the region. Our journey from a small refrigeration company to a full-service home comfort provider reflects our commitment to adapting and growing with our community. I called Maynard because my AC wasn't kicking on this week. While the air handler & compressor were just fine...Josh discovered the 2 pole breaker was not. The breaker had been tripped (hence the no AC) and when he flipped it on, it was hot after only 5 minutes and shouldn't have been as the unit was only pulling 9amps vs the 30amp breaker. Turns out the wiring was frayed. He took the time to replace the breaker, ensure the wires were fine and also corrected a duct run that was hung improperly/being choked out. Josh was awesome! 10/10 customer service, knowledge, being thorough with trouble-shooting all possible issues, answering my questions clearly, showing me what he was doing, etc. I really appreciate that he took pictures of everything he did and that you receive those w/ your invoice.
