Our Story: Built on Service and Community
As we mentioned above, it’s been over 85 years since we first planted our roots in Nashville and began serving the Middle Tennessee area. We originally started as Horrell Refrigeration in 1939, before Bob Maynard purchased the company in 1971. Over the decades, we expanded by acquiring several other companies, growing our capabilities along with our customer base. These additions allowed us to broaden our offerings and meet the evolving needs of homeowners and businesses alike. With every step forward, we’ve stayed focused on quality, professionalism, and service that truly makes a difference.
In 2001, we became known as Maynard Select—a name that marked a new era of growth and expanded services. Today, you’ll find us as Maynard Heating & Cooling, proudly serving as the go-to team for residential and commercial services throughout the region. Our journey from a small refrigeration company to a full-service home comfort provider reflects our commitment to adapting and growing with our community. The tech Josh did a great job, explain the unit to me, servicing, cleaning, and repairing broken wires on the unit. Test everything to make sure it all worked and did the job in a very timely manner.

Our unit froze this week, and Maynard came out the same day. Our repairman, Josh, was friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. We had to wait 24 hrs to unfreeze, and Josh was out the next day and repaired it quickly. Highly recommend Maynard as they are knowledgeable, prompt, kind, and trustworthy.

Kevin was our technician that came out.it was very embarrassing because i had the thermostat to heat im half blind and so is my husband he thought he turned it to cool. But Kevin was so kind and considerate i recommend him to everyone he is a great judge of character and very well mannered. He check my unit and fix the low freon thank you Kevin. We had a mini split out in our bonus room above the garage. So much better than the PTAC we had up there. The cooling seems to be more even and the unit is so much more quieter. The installers were polite and worked diligently to get the job done. Everything was cleaned up you couldn’t tell they were here. Definitely happy with sales and service.

Two technicians showed up to replace a 2.5 ton Goodman A/C air conditioner unit with a 90% efficiency gas furnace with a new programmable thermostat in 4 hours this morning. The unit replaced a 17 year old Trane unit with a freon link.
The unit has a higher efficiency than the old unit.
Five year warranty on the furnace.

Capacitor failed on first hot day of year. A 2:30p call had a tech at my home before 7pm. Richie is amazing. Diagnosed the problem, replaced the bad part, cleaned the system and had my AC going again well before darkness. No hot night without AC

Kevin Heath was my repairman for my AC system with Maynard Man. After I showed him my concern with the AC system, he moved forward in testing the HVAC system to make sure it was running properly, which it was. He quickly identified, cleared and sealed the issue with the AC system in a timely manner. Kevin was professional and respectful to my questions and/or concerns. He won my approval.
